ECO FOOTPRINT

Each and every economic activity has certain impacts on the environment. As a socially responsible and an environmentally friendly company we are aware of this fact. Paper plays and will always play an important role in our lives.

Here are some types of eco-friendly papers that our printing company uses to minimize the ecological and carbon footprint:

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper ensures sustainable forest management that conserves the biological diversity, regenerative ability and vitality of world's forest. The cutting down of trees is monitored, and all the wood is tracked from the forest to the store. By doing so, the important ecological, economical and social functions of forests at every level, from local to global, are maintained.

Environmentally friendly papers are also the ones that are made without the use of harmful chemicals: TCF paper (totally chlorine free) and ECF paper (elemental chlorine free). Paper industry still uses chlorine in order to get paper products the right kind of white and its emissions pollute the environment.

Recycled paper is made from waste paper, printed and unprinted. It has to be made according to procedures that follow the environmentally friendly criteria (e.g. color removal). Paper can be recycled four to six times. Recycled paper has a slightly grayish cast what makes it even more special. Nowadays, recycled papers are of very high quality and can easily compete with ordinary papers.
There are also papers that are not 100% recycled; a certain percent of cellulose or other substance, e.g. algae, waste textile or similar items, is added when they are recycled.

Environmental facts:
Recycled paper produces 73 % less air pollution that if it was made from raw materials.
Producing recycled paper uses up to 70% less energy than virgin paper.
It takes 24 trees to make 1 ton of paper.
