How is the quantity relevant to the price of a product?
The higher the quantity, the lower the price per item printed.
A high percantage of the total cost is the cost of preperation
(graphical design, digital prepress, setup of the printing machine).
These costs remain the same regarless of the qunatity, so they
spread out more evenly with bigger quantities.

In what format should I prepare the text for a book?
You can write your book in your favourite text editor (such as
Microsoft Word). If you wish to include images in your book,
it is important not to embed them in text. You should deliver them to
us as seperate files (eg. picture.jpg), so they don't lose the quality
when imported to the text editor.

|
What is the easiest way of delivering files, ready for printing?
The creation of plates for printing is a process in which PDF files
are used. You can send them by e-mail (if smaller than 10 MB), upload
them to our FTP server, or bring them over personally on a CD or an USB
key. You can also send us the original files made in Corel Draw or
Adobe InDesign (along with the fons you've used) and we'll create
the required PDF files here.

What resolution should I use for my pictures?
The photographs are suitable for printing when they are at a resolution
of 300 dpi. You can check the resolution of an image in your favourite
image editing program, such as Photoshop. The information Document Size
shows you, for what reproduction size is an image suitable.
For example: an image with dimensions 1600 x 1200 pixels at 300 dpi will
retain its quality when printed at 13.55 x 10.16 cm or smaller.
If you are using a digital camera for making your pictures, make sure
it is set to the highest photo resolution.

What are CMYK and RGB and what is the difference?
CMYK and RGB are color schemes. CMYK is an abbreviation composed of
words Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. RGB is also an abbreviation -
Red, Green, Blue. Both schemes enable you the reproduction of an
entire color spectre. The difference is in usage - CMYK is used for
printing, while RGB is used in computer monitors and TV sets. When
preparing your printed material, make sure that you are using CMYK.

What is 'bleeding'?
Bleeding means, that the color 'bleeds' over the edge of the paper.
This effect is achieved by printing a little over the edge and cutting
the extra printed material off after the colors are dry. At preperation
make sure the content reaches over the desired final dimensions and
that you set the bleeding parameter to about 3 mm.

Can I review my material before it is printed?
We never start printing, until we have your confirmation of the
content and the design. You can review your material after it has
been prepared for printing on your computer monitor in a form of a PDF
file, or we can print it out for you.
